Aftermarket Ford F250-350 1999-2004 Bumper Kits
The Ford F250-350 range of full-size pickup trucks has been a mainstay of the American automotive landscape since it was first introduced in 1999. As one of America’s most popular vehicles, it has consistently ranked among the best selling models in its class, and its continued success is a testament to its reliability, power and style. The fourth-generation Ford F250-350 trucks (1999-2004) have become iconic due to their classic good looks and rugged performance.
The F250-350 range is available in both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations, and all models feature the tried and true Ford 7.3L Power Stroke turbo diesel engine. This diesel engine is renowned for its longevity and outstanding torque, and it produces up to 475 lb-ft of torque, making it ideal for heavy towing applications.
The F250-350 offers six available trim levels: XL (regular cab), XLT (super cab or crew cab), Lariat (crew cab), King Ranch (4x4 Super Duty only), Harley Davidson (4x4 Super Duty only), and the ultimate SVT Lightning (4x4 Super Duty only). The XL and XLT are equipped with the 7.3L Power Stroke diesel engine, while the Lariat and King Ranch get a 6.0L Power Stroke diesel engine with more horsepower and torque, ideal for hauling and towing applications. The SVT Lightning, the ultimate off-road version, features a supercharged version of the 6.0L Power Stroke diesel engine.
All Ford F250-350 trucks come standard with a 4-speed automatic transmission, but can be upgraded to a 5-speed automatic transmission on certain models. Additionally, rear axle gearing on the 7.3L can also be upgraded to a 3.73:1 ratio for improved towing capacity.
The interior of the F250-350 provides plenty of space and comfort for up to six passengers, depending on the trim level selected. The Ford Supercab and Crew Cab models provide an interior that rivals most midsize SUVs in terms of cargo room, perfect for family camping trips or work duties. Seats are supportive and comfortable, while amenities such as air conditioning, power windows and locks and cruise control are standard on all models.
The biggest appeal of the Ford F250-350 is its capability for off-roading. The truck’s ride is surprisingly compliant and capable, especially with the 4 wheel drive option. The suspension consists of a live axle and leaf springs and shocks, giving it excellent trail performance. The SVT Lightning models come equipped with an extra high performance off-road package that includes limited slip differential and larger wheels and tires, making them equally as capable in the dirt.
For those looking for a reliable, powerful, and stylish pickup truck, the Ford F250-350 is certainly worth checking out. Between the available options, the proven engine lineup, and its ability to tackle rough terrain, the Ford F250-350 truly stands out in the crowd.
